Granted, not every single boss is an asshole. But there are enough bosses who fall under the flog category to warrant drawing certain conclusions and outlining certain trends. Yeah, it can get a bit like that sometimes…. Humans are creatures of habit.
The Story of how the Asshole became the Boss | Magix Illuminate
Lisa has built a really strong baking team at her company. Her team loves her. Well, unfortunately, Lisa works for Bob. And Bob is threatened by Lisa, and so he does things like steal her ideas and present them as his own. Assholes like Bob can make our lives hell. But they do not have the power to control our stories. Surrounding yourself with soul sisters can help.
Dealing with a boss who seems to get some sort of sadistic pleasure out of making you miserable is basically a rite of passage. Or maybe it's not and I've just had a bad run. I spent a few too many unfortunate years working food service, where I almost exclusively had bosses I couldn't get along with. In those situations, it was usually pretty obvious that my bosses hated being there as much as I did. But even if you aren't being ordered to scrub the baseboards for sassing an overlord, the corporate world can be trying in other ways: say, that boss who measures your dedication by how willing you are to answer emails outside your working hours or by how many tasks you'll take on outside your job description.
Help me! What Should I do? There are assholes everywhere — from the morning commute to social media.
